The first international, volcanological conference on Methana was a great opportunity to show the importance of geological research on Methana. It was a first success due to the participation of Greek, Italian, German and English geologists, tour operators and local politicians. To do such an conference has been my dream for many years. Together with a friend, we started in 2015 to contact the official geologists in Greece (IGME), Germany and Switzerland. The municipality of Troezen-Methana took over our idea and organized the conference. Unfortunately the local politicians - like the 25 years before - did not respect our volunteer engagement for the area. And others took over all projects on Methana.
