Important discoveries for the region

The Greek archaeologist Eleni Konstolakis-Jiannopoulou has worked in the Troizen-Methana region for several decades, uncovering and researching numerous archaeological sites. These include the great finds of over 150 tonidols, sacrificial bowls and a child's grave in the Mycenaean settlement near Methana. The Mycenaean dome tombs at Galatas can also be described as an archaeological sensation. One can only hope that at some point there will be a museum on Methana and some of the finds will come back to Methana!
